Raw Energy
How do we capture the raw energy of play in our artwork? How do we free the doer from the critic, the knower from the one stuck in fear? This class answers these questions on four levels: play, focus, dialogue and offering.
Play starts with exercises in rhythm and movement and uses a variety of media and tools to get creative energy flowing. Focus employs the skills we need to make progress through mixing colors, understanding value, creating texture and using space. Dialogue opens the creative process to exploring deeper principles of design and allowing the work to guide us to a satisfying completion. Finally, offering shares our work with the circle of life and inspires a new round of creation. By the end of the workshop, two new calligraphic works of art will express the freedom and beauty of creating with raw energy.
